Tod macht frei: Death sets you free. With your 22 movie channels showing 2,000 movies of all genres per month, the only thing lacking in entertainment is quality. A hundred movies are started but only the most interesting ones gets 17 minutes of viewing before the retardation is repealed and it is turned off. Just then, a sleeper comes along that will tackle your attention. A movie that has a protagonist that is involved in an intense struggle to survive amongst great suffering. The backdrop that this storyline takes place in is always set in a POW camp, a mental institution, a tough prison or a concentration camp. It is the background scenery of intense human suffering brought on by his fellow “fuckers” that makes the movie memorable. THE GREAT ESCAPE, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, and ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST are just a few examples of blockbuster hits using this methodology. A remake of the fable called BAMBI is going to be filmed live in a substandard nursing home with hundreds of human rights violations filed against it. The movie, which will come out next year, is expected to take home a number of Oscars, including Best Dismal Suffering.
