There is a subtle creature known to us all
Who goes by the name of: Alvin Kevin Hall
He runs a program of total escape
Occupancy there is always top rate.
Alvin can display an enormous diversity
He can be found in an alley or University
All through the social group when the day is done
He could be found on either end of a gun.
Alvin’s most active among the impetuous young
Creating stories both fun and ever so dumb
He breaks down the barriers that keep us withdrawn
and create social networks from which they have spawned.
He’ll laugh, sing, and dance and bounce off the wall
But he’ll still be standing right after last call
And so you can see that he is no fool
If you’re looking for one, a mirror is your tool.
Your sanity cries out for you to soon leave
But your blind love of him will cause you to heave
You win the war; you have beaten him this time
Only to find he’s a sneak who’ll cross any line.
Alvin strives to be the best that he can be
He’s out for lunch, and after work, you see
He’ll keep you sharp and full of spring
Keep him around and you’re sure to have a fling.
He’s responsible for expanding the human race
Go back 9 months and you’ll locate the place
He’s your cute mom, and he’s your handsome dad
Regrets will come later and this is so sad.
The dwindling elders embrace him the most
He soothes the failing body of his old hosts
His actions are intentional and work very fast
But evil Alvin’s magic does not always last.
The young watch with excited eyes
as Mr. Hall stirs their parents to highs
The family parties on into the evening
Too much of Alvin and you’ll all get a beating.
Alvin had ambitions to be a race car driver
Ride with him and pray you’re a survivor
He’s been seen driving with your future wife
But now they extract her body with the Jaws of Life.
