This term has nothing to do with a list of words of action, state or occurence, (verbs) such as: run, jump, and yell. Nor does it pertain to a list of “professional verbs” (proverbs) used by educated individuals to inflate their importance such as: scurry, cavorting, and caterwaul. Proverbs are: a short, traditional saying that expresses some obvious truth or familiar expression. Here are 5 proverbs and their meanings. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. This refers to an encounter with a drug dealer in the inner shitty. As the paranoid dealer displays mistrust and aggression, the addicted junkie gets apprehensive and starts rapidly jabbering about completing the drug deal. This rise in tension forces the dealer to drag out his assault rifle and fire rapid bursts into the arena of confrontation. The gun’s bolt or action sounds off at a deafening 150 decibels, drowning out the junkie’s sentences. TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE. During the French Revolution, decapitations were staged in public squares as an example to get in line. Multiple human heads rolling off the Guillotine was an effective deterrent in accomplishing that goal. CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT. This solves an age-old riddle of who killed the neighbor’s cat. It was Jeffrey Curiosity. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. An old sign that hangs in the US Capitol, placed there by local comedians that try and lighten the mood of incumbent Congressmen and Senators. ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER. This is nothing more than a misprint of the liquor: absinthe, that is distilled from wormwood. It enhances hornyness in men and makes the male’s worm (penis) go woody.
