TP. 140 THE LETTER R

The old Sesame Street program that premiered on November 10, 1969 is now in its 55th season. It opened its show with the saying, “brought to you by……. ” as a joke to parody major retail sales companies that sponsored popular TV programs. In most cases up to 2007, the Sesame Street episodes were brought to you by a letter taken from the 26 that comprise the English language alphabet. The commercials consisted of words that began with the letter of the day and provided an education in pronouncing those words, along with their meanings as a teaching guide for young children. Evidently, it worked quite well. Sesame Street was broadcast to the tail end of the Baby Boomers and all 4 generations that followed after them. Since the premiere, national attention is now given to tiny minorities that slip into the spotlight, whether it be trangenders, furries, or people suffering from rhotacism. This speech impediment causes a few individuals to pronounce the letter R with a W sound, such as Elmer Fudd calling Bugs Bunny: a wascal wabbit. Some backwater lawyer took this injustice to the Supreme Court and got the black wobed wetards to eliminate the letter R from the English Language to avoid embarrassment for this small unfortunate group. The decision had an unprecedented windfall for the US Treasury because anything the government did for its citizens, with no cost to them, now became a source of income. National Parks, State Parks, and government publications were provided for the enjoyment and education of its citizens at no charge. Those values were always recovered by taxes. Now, all governments have thrown a double tax on its constituents by this Supreme Court decision. By outlawing the letter R, all services that were free now come with a fee. Elmew, you asshole, that’s wepulsively widiculous.
